Bob Oettinger is president of the International Baseball Association (IBA) and vice president of its non-profit arm, International Baseball Academy of Central America (IBACA). The mission of IBA is to promote the growth of baseball throughout the world through the construction of baseball academies/schools and IBACA is generating funds to build the first facility in Nicaragua. Former major leaguers Reggie Smith, Dave Stewart, Brad Lesley, Frank White and Kelly Stinnett are involved with the organizations. Activities include sponsoring international tournaments, conducting baseball clinics and distributing donated baseball equipment to youth leagues across Nicaragua. Oettinger has worked in corporate and non-profit management, fund raising, planning, public relations and promotions for more than 25 years. He has served as a Board member for Goodwill Industries, the Publicity Club of Los Angeles and Roar Foundation and was appointed director of the Entertainment Industry Committee for the Los Angeles Partnership for Ethical Charity by then-Mayor Tom Bradley. He holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's in public relations from the University of Southern California. Oettinger resides in Thousand Oaks, CA with his wife and two children.
